Friends of Rockbridge Climbing (FoRC)
Friends of Rockbridge Climbing (FoRC) works to support and preserve climbing in Rockbridge County, starting with Goshen Pass. We bring together volunteers to promote safe, responsible climbing, assist with stewardship, and build community partnerships to sustain and enhance local climbing areas.
We are collecting funds to help offset the costs of buying and installing climbing hardware. In the future we hope to use these funds to host community events to foster our local climbing community and share our collective knowledge with those just starting out.

We are on a mission to unite as a community to celebrate and enjoy Rockbridge’s natural resources while partnering with land stewards to protect and preserve these areas. Together, we strive to ensure that our climbing spaces and natural landscapes remain accessible, safe, and thriving for generations to come.

We are working with the Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation (Natural Heritage), as a Citizen Support Organization, to construct approach trails that ensure minimal environmental impact, and providing our collective climbing expertise to remove vegetation from climbing routes, and ensure the safety of the climbing hardware.

Our team is made up of experienced rock climbers who are dedicated to bring back our outdoor climbing spaces in Rockbridge County. We work closely with the Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation to understand their needs and provide solutions to hurdles of climbing in Goshen Pass.
